Connected.

Connecting with God and connecting with each other fuels us with passion, purpose and promise. In the most crucial times of Jesus' ministry, each time, we see him retreating to spend time alone with the father. The idea and practice of retreating in order to advance. At the start of a new youth work calendar, prioritising time away to focus on our own relationship and connection with God is vital. We seek connection before direction. We want the out-workings of our youth ministry to be shaped by the in-workings of His ministry.

Connected is.

Connected is a 3 day retreat where we focus on getting connected back to our first love and also spend time connected with others across Ireland who are involved in youth ministry. We recognise that we can easily get isolated in our own youth work and ministry. We want to prioritise times where we can get away together and learn from each other and celebrate what God is doing across the land with youth work. The Irish word Ceangailte means joined up together, or tied together. With the emphasis being on a positive bond that is for the long haul. We want Connected:Ceangailte to be a time and space where youth work across Ireland can feel more tied and interwoven together. We believe this happens best when relationships are deepened by spending quality time with God and quality time with each other in prayer and worship.

What to expect.

Quality time and space to meet with and hear from God. Time to reflect and relax. Great food. Great Hotel. Individual Prayer appointments. Inspirational input. Worship. Deepening of friendships. Discernment of the times we live in. Bigger picture of what God is doing in Ireland. Fun and joy of being together.

Eoghan Heaslip

Eoghan is married to Becky and together they have three grown-up daughters. Eoghan came to faith in his late teens and has been a part of Saint Catherine’s Church ever since, first as a member, then as part of the staff team, and now as the lead pastor. He is the most passionate about making faith personal & putting it into practice.

Packing list

Bible and notebook. Journal. Face Mask, walking shoes. Running shoes, golf clubs, Swimming costume and Swim Cap for pool and spa facilities. Comfy clothes for three days. Slippers! Board games? Christian books.

 

Register

Registering for CONNECTED costs €170 per person (based on a twin room, additional charges for a single occupancy room) and includes two nights lodging, seven meals (two breakfasts, three lunches, two evening meals) & teas / coffees, as well as programming for the event. Attendees are responsible for travel to/from the event as well as any other costs incurred.

Retreat & Replenish

We want you to breathe in and hear God’s voice on this retreat. The hotel and hotel grounds are stunning. We purposefully want you to enjoy your time here as we know it will help you connect with God. A big reason we choose the Slieve Russell is that the surrounding beauty will help you relax and replenish in his presence. There are great walks around the lakes, a 2km trail through the golf course, a secret garden, tennis courts and a crazy golf course to add a bit of fun. The surrounding area includes local landmarks such as Cuilcagh Way (Stairway to heaven) as well as many museums and areas of outstanding natural beauty if you want to take yourself outside the hotel grounds. As guests at Connected we also have special discount rates to the golf course and spa treatments if that is something that will help you replenish.
